In a long due course correction, candidates appearing Civil Services Exam and suffering from Blindness, Cerebral Palsy and Locomotor disability have been allowed to you scribes.

According to Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), these candidates will get extra 20 mins per hour to write the exam to compensate for disability. This has been hailed by educationalists and students alike, as a historic gesture.

Cerebral Palsy effects movement of body, while locomotor disability effects joints and muscles. Both hinders writing capacity. For 3 hours paper, 60 mins will be the grace time along with the use of scribe from 2015 onwards.
